To develop and pilot a comprehensive integrated model of care for major trauma patients, that ensures equity of high quality physical and psychological trauma care in London’s MTCs that can be stepped up when a major incident occurs.

The model is focussed on appropriate psychological capacity and capability in MTCs through a Trauma Psychology Team. It is important to note that this model is not about replacing or supplementing existing psychological treatment services. It is focussed on prevention and early identification and ensuring Londoners get support at the front-end to minimise the need of longer- term support and specialist mental health services.
